Gustav Nielsen
I am a transdisciplinary architect, artist and researcher focused on posthuman spatial politics. In my work I explore questions of power, spacetime, subjecthood, more-than-human agencies, pluriversal beings, relationality and materiality in processes of urban-rural transformation through arts-based thinking doings and research practices with feminist new materialist, critical posthumanist and postqualitative approaches.
Since 2023 I’ve been a fellow with the international action- and research institute DemocracyNext where I write about spaces and practices of radical democracy. As a founding collaborator with Building Neighbourhood and co-director of Rehearsing Environments I run creative workshops and perform happenings in contested public spaces.
Following a bachelor of arts in architecture from Aarhus School of Architecture I completed my masters degree in architecture at Yale University, hold a masters degree in urban studies from University of Cambridge and am currently pursuing a PhD in geography at Université du Luxembourg.
