Hélène Solvay

Hélène is an architect and researcher.

She is currently a first-year PhD student in architecture at Cambridge University. Her research explores urban rooms as catalysts for participation and eudaimonic wellbeing in old age. Using the Cambridge Room as a case study and the capability approach as a framework, she will examine the roles and responsibilities that older adults take on in planning practices, as well as the resources necessary to support and enhance these roles.

Before starting her PhD, she practised architecture in London and Zürich. She holds degrees from the Architectural Association (AA Dipl), University of Westminster (PG Diploma in Professional Practice Architecture), and the London School of Economics (MSc City Design and Social Sciences).
